Chetola Resorts Iris 4 – 2 Bed 2 Bath Condo

Chetola Resorts Iris 4 is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condominium. Chetola Resort is nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains in the scenic town of Blowing Rock. The resort features a hotel as well as rental condos. Featuring a large indoor pool and hot tub as well as beautifully maintained grounds, Chetola makes for a relaxing get away. The resort is located minutes from downtown Blowing Rock and Appalachian Ski Mountain.
Iris 4 features 2 bedrooms 1 with a king bed and 1 with a queen. The condo is located on the second floor of the building with steps for access, keep this in mind if you have a hard time with stairs.
The pillows on the king were not great and we had to reach out to the resort to get some replacements. The resort was quick to remedy the situation and the room was just fine for me and my husband. Nothing special but nothing terrible either.
Connected to the 1 king bedroom is an ensuite with whirlpool tub and combined shower. A single sink highlighted by somewhat dated gold fixtures giving the early to mid 90’s vibe throughout the condo.
The main bedroom includes direct access to the patio via a sliding door and screen with an excellent view of the lake from the porch.
The condo includes a serviceable kitchen, again the condo shows it age in the finishes and the fixtures but everything works and was clean and in good order.
Just off the kitchen there is a dining area with a table and 4 chairs again no complaints about the table just keep in mind this condo is advertised as sleeping 6 but only 4 chairs for the table.
Just off of the dining area on the edge of the living room is access to the queen bed bedroom. I unfortunately failed to get a photo but we heard no complaints from our friends who came along and stayed in that room.
The living room it self consists of a single couch, a chair, a small coffee table, the gas fireplace, and a flat screen tv (not pictured). The living room was fine, we sat and watched the winter Olympics, however, it is tight for four adults. The couch is a standard three person couch so you are up close and personal fitting three people on there. We found ourselves pulling a chair from the dining area into the living room to allow room to breathe.
Just off of the living room is access to the second bathroom. This is the bathroom the queen bedroom guests would be using so you have to walk through the main living area to access it. We didn’t find this to be a big deal but just so you know the second bathroom is not connected. This bathroom also contains the washer and dryer which is convenient for anyone staying for and extended period of time.
While we absolutely love Chetola resort, this particular condo definitely wasn’t our favorite. It just felt a little too small for four people and was in need of some updates. In searching for a throw blanket to cozy up by the fireplace I only found one and it had seen better days.
To the resorts credit they were quick to replace the blanket for us.
We ended up in Iris 4 because this was a last minute trip decision and was booked on the same day we were heading up. It was the only two bedroom condo available, and while it definitely met our needs we would not seek out this condo again. There are larger condo’s at Chetola that give us the space we are looking for while keeping us in the Chetola Resort.
